Join us for a special tasting with Alexandre Gendrier from Domaine des Huards on Tuesday, February 25th! Alexandre is the eighth generation to work the Cour-Cheverny domain. His parents, Michael and Jocelyne, converted the vineyard to organic in the 1970's and then began implementing biodynamic practices and finally earning their biodynamic certification in 1998.
Their specialty is Romorantin, that rare and vibrant cousin of Chardonnay, but they also farm Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Gamay. The wines are natural, with the only additions being a small amount of SO2. Further information on Domaine des Huards and their wines may be found on the Vintage 59 and Domaine des Huards websites. We will be pouring the following wines:
2018 Domaine des Huards Cheverny “Pure” (Sauvignon/Chardonnay) - Loire, France
2017 Domaine des Huards Cour-Cheverny “Romo” (Romorantin) - Loire, France
2017 Domaine des Huards Cheverny “Envol” Rouge (Pinot Noir/Gamay) - Loire, France
The tasting will take place in our wine shop from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, February 25th. Cost of the flight is $15 for general admission, $8 for wine industry members (please bring a business card or other form of identification), and free for Soif wine club members. Tickets may be purchased at the event.
