I Cacciagalli & Cascina Val del Prete

Vigneto Cacciagalli

Vigneto Cacciagalli

Join us at Soif on Monday, May 6th for a special tasting of organic and biodynamic Italian wines. We will be featuring wines from two producers, I Cacciagalli in Campania and Cascina Val del Prete in Piedmont

I Cacciagalli:

Located at the foot of a spectacular, inactive volcano, this region is known to produce exceptional products from its fertile terrain. Owners Diana and Mario were brought together not only through their love of wine, but also their love of the land. Diana’s family has owned the estate with grape vines, hazelnut, chestnut, and olive trees for many generations, and Diana chose to take a non-invasive approach to farming, showing respect for the land, the traditions, and the environment. Together they farm 35 hectares and make wine without commercial yeasts, other additives, and minimal sulfur. We will be pouring:

2015 I Cacciagalli Falanghina “Aorivola” - Campania, Italy

2013 I Cacciagalli Piedirosso “Mille” - Campania, Italy

Cascina Val del Prete:

The sandy soil of the Roero hills yields an intense red wine, bearing the district’s name, that differs from the other great Piedmontese wines in that it quickly attains good balance while the others require aging. Mario Roagna is one of Roero’s rising winemakers. In a certain sense, his story is symbolic of a territory that has grown and asserted itself as one of winning quality.

2017 Cascina Val del Prete Roero Arneis “Luet” - Piedmonte, Italy

2013 Cascina Val del Prete Nebbiolo d’Alba - Piedmonte, Italy

2015 Cascina Val del Prete Barbera d’Alba, “Serra de Gatti” - Piedmonte, Italy

The tasting will take place in the Soif wine shop from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Cost of admission is $15 for the general public, and free for Soif wine club members. Tickets may be purchased online or at the event.
