Cascina Ca'Rossa Tasting

We are thrilled to welcome Angelo Ferrio (pictured right) of Cascina Ca'Rossa to Soif. Join us Friday, January 26th for a guided tasting of several selections from Cascina Ca'Rossa. Located in the Roero region of Piemonte, Ca'Rossa first came into being in 1967, at the hands of Angelo's father Alfonso Ferrio, when Angelo was just a boy. After years of hard work, Alfonso had saved enough money to purchase a nearby farmhouse. Like most farmers in the area, the Ferrio family began by producing a variety of different crops. This included Barbara and Nebbiolo grapes (varieties which thrive given the region's climate and calcareous soils), that they would sell in bulk to local cooperatives. In 1995, under the leadership and direction of Angelo, the Ferrio family began to produce their own wines. With an expansive knowledge of the terroir, conscientious practices, and dedication, Angelo began to develop quality wines that Cascina Ca'Rossa would become renowned for. We will be pouring the following selections from Cascina Ca'Rossa:

2016 Roero Arneis "Merica" $23

2016 Birbet Bracchetto $17

2014 Nebbiolo Langhe "Funsu" $25

2013 Barbera d'Alba "Vigna Mulassa" $39

Tickets may be purchased online, or in our retail shop. The cost of the flight is $15 for general admission, and as always, free for Soif wine club members.
