We are thrilled to welcome Sam Bilbro (pictured right), winemaker of Idlewild Wines, to Soif! Using minimalist winemaking techniques, Sam produces Piedmontese varietal wines in the hills of Mendocino county. The Idlewild wines are true to their terroir — revealing new sides of the varieties and their flavor profiles that differ from those grown in northern Italy. Vibrant, balanced, and pure, the Idlewild wines prove that its not just the “usual suspects” of grape varietals in California (think Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, etc.) that can thrive here. The tasting will take place promptly Saturday, December 15th at 2:00pm. The cost of the tasting is $20 for general admission and free for Soif wine club members. Tickets may be purchased online, or in our retail shop.
