A taste of Bordeaux with Jean-Luc Hitta

Jean-Luc.jpg

Bordeaux is back, (it never really went away), and we are thrilled to have Jean-Luc HItta join us on Friday October 27th to pour some incredible Bordelais wines.  He'll inform and entertain us with his lifetime of experience working with and enjoying these world class wines and wineries.

Jean-Luc was born in Paris to French parents who "drank Bordeaux all his life", and he eventually worked as Commis Sommelier at the George V in Paris and the Connaught Hotel in London.  After studying in New York and eventually moving to San Francisco he continued working as Sommelier at some of the city's finest restaurants.  He's since been the Director of Bordeaux in California for one of the largest importers, developing a fantastic portfolio from the French wine region.

The flight of four wines we'll be pouring are the following:

  • 2015 Petite Haut-Lafitte Blanc, Pessac-Leognan$52
  • 2012 La Reserve de Leoville Barton, St. Julien$52
  • 2010 Chateau Brown, Pessac-Leognan        $46
  • 2013 Chateau Doisy-Vedrine, Barsac-Sauternes$36 (375ml)

This event is a Friday evening, casual tasting that will be offered between the hours of 5 and 7 pm.  The cost of the flight is $25.  As always, Soif Wine Club members have one free tasting.  Tickets can be purchased online prior to event, and - space permitting - sold at the wine shop that evening.
